Hey!
im katie
I’m so happy you’re here

For six years, I built a career in the corporate automotive world, molding myself into a version of success that looked right on paper but never actually felt like mine. In 2024, I became a mom and everything changed for me.
Motherhood has a way of shaking you awake in ways I can’t quite put into words. Our children truly are our greatest teachers, they’re mirrors of us. They reflect our joy, our tenderness, our growth, and gently reveal places we’re still learning to soften. Watching my son experience the world with curiosity and imagination opened my eyes to everything I had forgotten. The way he finds magic in everything – things most of us rush past, inspired me.
He became a constant reminder that life isn’t meant to be lived on autopilot and if I wanted him to have even the slightest chance at maintaining that spark, I needed to stop sleepwalking and lead by example.
So I quit my corporate job and spent the last year retracing my steps and I found myself again. Immersing myself back into the places, passions, and pieces of myself that once made me feel most alive, and photography was at the heart of it all.
I got my first “real” camera as a gift in my late teens. I was always captivated by the details in nature – raindrops clinging to leaves after a storm, the delicate fur on a bumblebee collecting pollen, the intricate patterns within someone’s iris. Though I still love capturing those things, becoming a mother has shifted my inspiration into capturing the details and feelings I don’t want to forget about the people in my life.
For me, photography was never just about taking pictures, it was always about noticing. The art of noticing is a concept that continues to find me over and over again through motherhood, movement, and creating. The older I get the more I realize that life isn’t made up of big milestones alone. It’s made up of thousands of small, seemingly mundane moments that become the memories we treasure the most.
It has been a year of complete surrender for me – Surrendering to the unknown, to control, to expectations, and learning to trust myself again. Every path I have gone down this year has been guiding me back to the same lesson: presence.
That’s why SRNDR was created. Not to create perfect photos, but to create space – for you to let go of pressure, to be present, and to surrender to the moment and let the story tell itself.
Because years from now, I don’t think you’ll care whether every hair was in place, or if your kid ended up with a stain on his shirt. You’ll want to remember the feeling of laughter radiating out of you as you run through a field with your lover, the peach fuzz on your baby’s ears, the feral screams and belly laughs pouring out of your children running around just simply being. The wild, messy, beautiful moments that make up our silly little lives.
Welcome to SRNDR.
I’ll let you in on a little secret…I used to dread having my picture taken (I still have my moments honestly).
I’d spend days stressing over outfits. I’d overthink my hair, my skin, every little imperfection. Once I became a mom, it turned into worrying if my son would nap, smile, cry, or cooperate. By the time the session arrived, I wasn’t excited – I was exhausted.
Sound familiar? I SEE YOU! That’s exactly why I approach sessions differently. I’m here to be your biggest hype woman, gently guiding you every step of the way so you can let go of the pressure, be fully present, and surrender to the moment.
Whether you’re celebrating a new chapter, documenting your growing family, embracing motherhood, or simply wanting to freeze this season of life with the people you love most, my sessions are about creating space to just be.
I never want your session to feel overly posed or forced. I want you to interact, explore, embrace one another, and trust that the in between moments are often the ones you’ll treasure the most for years to come.
Show up exactly as this moment finds you.
I’m inspired by nostalgia, nature, movement, emotion, and connection. Some moments call for soft dreamy light. Others ask for rich shadows, grain, maybe a little blur from kids running through a field or lovers jumping into each others arms. Every gallery unfolds differently because every story is different.
Rather than chasing a specific trend or editing every session to look exactly the same, I curate each gallery around how the day actually looked – and more importantly how it felt.
You’ll find balance of candid moments and gentle direction. A few timeless portraits woven together with the beautifully unscripted moments that tell the real story. I want your gallery to feel like opening a memory rather than scrolling through a photoshoot.
My hope is that every gallery brings you right back to that moment.
